Re: Anonymous Communication on the Internet

A lecturer I had got us thinking about caching as opposed to deliberate logging … how much pr0n the uni proxy server chaches (lol), and on a wider scope, JANET, the atlantic divide etc.

Basically we’re fucked. Then again have we ever had anonymity; do we all cover our faces when we walk around? Do you need to know people irl before you tell them your name, what you do and where you live? How much do you want!

Quite frankly alot of people worried about anonyimity have nothing interesting to anonymize, who gives a shit if they’re cheating on their wife with the dog. Secrets have ways of telling themselves anywayz.

In short; if it’s private, crypto or steganography. Or both .. If you double up as james bond.🙂

Think inside the box!

I agree with the most of these… but not with the last part, at this moment the real unbreakable encryption is extremely hard to be achieved.

You can use something like Vernam algorithm or something more popular like PGP using 4096 bits keys but you cannot use these for all of your connections.
This automatically means loss of anonymity.

Steganography in most cases is not secure, it is just a good way of security through obscurity.

Re: Anonymous Communication on the Internet

You basically can use cryptography for all your socket connections (ofcourse not exactly PGP, but you can).

Of course, there are implementations of popular ciphers for almost every known application.

But I’m talking about unbreakable encryptions.
As far as I know, today the only two unbreakable known ciphers are the Vernam cipher and the PGP.
And unfortunately both of these encryptions have a limited usage at this moment.

Re: Anonymous Communication on the Internet

Yeah, you’re right. One solution is that you write you’r own cipher how different applications, that the Vernam and PGP doesn’t support.

Unbreakable.

I guess you know how often people wrote about ‘unbreakable encryption’, and we always found a way to find a solution.

We will see what the future will bring. Amen.

Re: Anonymous Communication on the Internet

a lot of encryption but not anonymous…

1) what if we build up a gateway server which cuts all headers, no logs and shit… and there… every connection and information we will get will be untraceable from the gateway to us…

why exactly we keep this amounts of logs for? if we got ths systems… the DoS will be out, and also a lot of troubles… and what will be „public” will be secure enought… if not… is it;s only their problem…

ARE WE GAINING MORE FROM THIS LACK OF FREEDOM?
Do you see other safety-boat then Anonimity?

2) in the end i think that i will focus on a Client-Server(s)-Client Anonymous communication… i hope at least this will be „accepted” by the „world”
